Establishments that accept credit card payments are required by law to also accept cash

The Faroese Consumer Watchdog has ordered restaurant Etika to accept cash payments from customers.
This comes after the watchdog was notified by a customer that the restaurant did not accept cash.
According to section 81 of the Payment Act, any establishment that accepts credit card payments is also required to accept cash.
Etika has notified the watchdog that it will accept cash payments from now on.
