More foreign workers than ever
Of the 28,100 employees in the Faroese labour force, 6.5 percent have non-Danish citizenship

There have never been as many employees of non-Danish citizenship in the Faroese labour force as now, reports Statistics Faroe Islands.
In June 2022, 6.5 percent of the Faroese labour force consisted of non-Danish citizens, up from 5.2% in June 2021.
In the mid ’90s, less than one percent of the labour force were non-Danish citizens.
Statistics Faroe Islands has been compiling Faroese labour force data since 1985.
