Work will begin on replacing the two old tunnels between Klaksvík and Norðtoftir in two weeks' time

After years of discussion, Parliament yesterday unanimously approved the so-called ‘Norður um Fjall’ tunnel project.
The project consists of replacing two tunnels, one from Klaksvík to Árnafjørður and another from Árnafjørður to Norðtoftir, both dating back to the 1960s.
DKK 522 million has been earmarked for the project.
