Yesterday’s 1,560 Covid tests resulted in 22 positive cases, reports corona.fo.

Twelve tested positive on arrival from abroad by ship. One tested positive in a follow-up test the day after arrival from abroad. The remaining nine were infected through community spread in the Faroes. Six of these are linked to known chains of infection, and the source of infection for the other three has not yet been identified.

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 7, 5, 13, 21, 17, 10 and 22.

No-one is receiving hospital treatment for Covid, and 491 people are listed as being in quarantine.

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated yesterday, 38,288 people (71.5 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 36,330 (67.8 percent) have received the second shot.
