Faroes preparing to take in refugees
The message from the Faroese government is clear: we should take in refugees from Ukraine.
Red Cross Faroe Islands will be playing a key role if the refugees arrive in the Faroes.
“Volunteers can now sign up with the Red Cross to help us prepare a response plan to implement if and when Ukrainian refugees come to the Faroes,” says Bárður Atlason Ísheim, who heads Red Cross Faroe Islands.

“About 100 people in the Faroes have already signed up as volunteers, but there is room for many more to build a fully prepared team of volunteers to welcome the refugees when they come.”
The support system will include services such as the provision of food and clothes, various forms of transport, social networking and health support.
