Chimney sweepers face police probe

The consumer watchdog has received three reports of SP/16 (Orkað) offering chimney services via calls and texts.

Unsolicited electronic marketing – through email, SMS, or phone – is prohibited by Article 6 of the marketing law.

Several cases of repeated calls, even after clear indications of disinterest from the consumers, add to the watchdog's concerns in the Orkað case.

Violations of Article 6 in the advertising law are punishable by a fine.
