Pilots sign new contract

The Faroese Airline Pilots’ Association and The Employers’ Association signed a new deal early yesterday morning.

Both parties agreed the terms of the third draft settlement, which means that the threatened pilot strike has been called off.

The Pilots’ Association rejected the previous two draft settlements because the suggested improvements in the pilots’ working conditions were deemed insufficient.

With the new contract, the pilots receive a 2.3% pay-rise, and adjustments have been made with regards to their working conditions.

The new contract is valid from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019.
