Car confusion in Runavík

A car owner who on Tuesday reported her car stolen has been fined for leaving the keys in the ignition.

It turned out that a woman who had been shopping in the Keypssamtøkan grocery store in Runavík inadvertently drove off in a car that looked very similar to her own.

When the owner of the car came out of the store, she noticed that her car was gone. She immediately called the police and reported it stolen.

The owner was later reunited with her car and was handed a fine for leaving the keys in the vehicle.
