More duty-free beer and wine

More duty-free beer and wine
New regulation changes mean that travellers to the Faroes will be allowed to bring in more beer and wine

25.07.2018 - 12:16

Travellers who choose to buy duty-free wine or beer rather than strong spirits will now be offered a higher quota.

According to the amended duty-free import regulations, travellers can now legally bring in “ten litres of beer or cider” or “2.25 litres of fortified wine and two litres of beer or cider” or “4.5 litres of table wine and two litres of beer or cider”.

This will, however, only be possible for travellers who not bring in spirits with an alcohol percentage of 22 or higher.

The regulations state that the cut-off point between fortified wine and strong spirits is an alcohol percentage of 22.
