Put dolphin hunts on hold, say Social Democrats
The Social Democratic Party urges whale hunt leaders to get together and discuss the killing of white-sided dolphins

All leaders of pilot whale hunts should meet to discuss the sustainability and regulation of dolphin hunts. While these talks are taking place, the hunts should be put on hold.

This is the view of Helena Dam á Neystabø, the head of Javnaðarflokkurin’s (Social Democratic Party) parliamentary group.

In a press release, she urges the government to immediately arrange a meeting in which the country’s whale hunt leaders discuss the implications of dolphin killings and inform the authorities of how we can ensure that dolphin hunts are carried out in a sustainable manner and that all such hunts are properly regulated.

While these and other related issues are being debated, dolphin hunts should be put on hold, according to the press release.
