Suðuroy’s football collaboration stops

Representatives of TB, FC Suðuroy and Royn met last week in a final attempt to secure the future of Suðuroy’s combined football club.

The conclusion was that the collaboration is over.

“I’m left with a very strange feeling. This is certainly not what we had hoped,” said TB chairman Henrik Thomsen.

“FC Suðuroy has suggested a formal combination of the clubs. We were definitely interested in continuing our great partnership, but a formal combination is a bit premature.

“There are financial obstacles, and then there are the emotions. I really like FC Suðuroy’s visions and plans, but there are just too many complications involved in a formal combination at this time.”
