Biomedical staff given retrospective pay rise
The Biomedical Laboratory Technicians’ Union and the finance ministry have signed a three-year contract valid from 1 October 2017 to 1 October 2020
The Ministry of Finance is still working on renewing contracts that expired in 2017.

Biomedical laboratory technicians have signed a new work contract with the finance ministry, valid until 1 October 2020.

The new contract is valid from 1 October 2017, on which date the salary increased by 0.90 percent. On 1 October 2018, it increased by a further 0.50 percent and on 1 October this year, it will go up by another 0.30 percent.

The final salary for biomedical lab technicians will also see an increase over the three-year period.

New maternity leave provisions now entitle female members of the Biomedical Laboratory Technicians’ Union to 24 weeks of paid maternity leave.
