The coalition parties have agreed on a new structure for Parliamentary seats and political matters for the remainder of this Parliamentary sitting.

Framsókn (the Progress Party) will oversee education for the rest of this sitting.

Tjóðveldi (the Republican Party) will take charge of culture, sports, media, church matters, arts and museums.

Key issues

The coalition parties have agreed on which matters to prioritise in this Parliamentary sitting. These include:

- Expediting the transfer of certain fields of responsibility from the Danish government

- To repay debts due for payment in June

- The digital identity project

- New arts academy in Sandoy

- The welfare Act

- The housing package

- The diversity Act

- The law on fishing charges

- The School of Domestic Science in Klaksvík

- The Sports Academy in Vágur

- The continuation school in Tvøroyri

- Extending the maternity leave by two weeks

- The assistant social worker study programme in Hov

- The tunnel projects in Dalur, Sandoy, and Hvalba, Suðuroy.

The government is expected to announce a press conference this week with further details on the political agenda for the remainder of this Parliamentary sitting, which ends no later than 1 September.
