Construction firms MT Højgaard and Lofti Arkitektar have signed a deal with Tórshavn City Council to build a new care centre for elderly people.

The centre, located in Rólantsgøta, Hoyvík, will consist of 28 rooms and is estimated to house an average of 150 people per year.

Once completed, respite care and rehabilitation places at the Boðanes and Lágargarður care homes will move into the new centre. The City Council says the building will be ready for use in autumn 2020.
