The Royal Run will take place as planned tomorrow in Klaksvík, but Crown Prince Frederic will not be running.
He will be watching from the sidelines, as he is suffering from a herniated disc.
One of the organisers, Guttorm Sørensen, says that while this is highly unfortunate, it will not change the planned event.
Some 3,800 people have registered for the Royal Run.
