Man dies from fall in Trøllanes

Yesterday at noon, the police received a report of a man who had fallen down a mountain on the west side of Kalsoy, reports in.fo.

The police and the Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre immediately launched a comprehensive rescue operation involving several ships and a helicopter.

According to the police, the man was taking part in a sheep drive on a mountain above Trøllanes when he fell down 300-400 metres.

Atlantic Airways’ helicopter found the man, but he was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
