FC Suðuroy appoints new manager

Sigfríður Clementsen will be at the helm of FC Suðuroy next season.

The new contract also means that Clementsen, 45, will be a coach at the newly established football academy in Suðuroy.

Clementsen, who holds a UEFA A coaching licence, has had an illustrious career as the manager of B36, ÍF, AB, EB/Streymur, HB, TB and Víkingur.

“We are delighted to welcome one of the country’s very best football managers to our club,” says Julius Vest Joensen, president of FC Suðuroy.

FC Suðuroy will be playing in the third-best division (known as 2. deild) next season.

Clementsen will take up his new position on 1 February.
