Speeding drivers and drunk people

Police carried out speed checks in Eysturoy on Saturday.

Four drivers, who were caught speeding in a 50 km/h area, were handed a DKK 2,500 fine.

Three people were caught for using their mobile phone while driving, and they received a DKK 1,000 fine.

Late-night violence

Meanwhile, police in the capital were kept busy on Sunday morning, as they arrested a man who was picking a fight with bouncers at a bar.

In another incident in Tórshavn, a man was hospitalised with head injuries. Police are waiting to speak with the victim and the person suspected to have caused the injuries.

The police also had to help many people who were too drunk to find their way home.
