New Copenhagen representative officer

Jóhannes Vitalis Hansen will take up his new position as the head of the Representation of the Faroe Islands in the Danish capital on 1 October.
In the first few months, Hansen will be working from the foreign ministry office in Tórshavn.
Once the foreign ministry’s appropriation in the 2020 budget proposal has been determined early next year, a decision will be made on whether he will relocate to Copenhagen.
Two other staff members work at the Copenhagen office.
Former representative in London
Hansen was previously the head of the Representation of the Faroe Islands in London and has since been working in the foreign ministry office in the Faroes for a few years.
Sigmundur Ísfeld, who was recently appointed as the head of the upcoming representation office in Beijing, China, has held the position as representative in Copenhagen since 2012.
Ísfeld has been working from the Faroese foreign ministry office for the past two years, where he has been combining his Copenhagen duties with setting up trade deals with Far East nations and preparing the opening of the new office in Beijing.
