Súlan, the Atlantic Airways flight attendant trade union, and the airline’s trade union, Føroya arbeiðsgevarafelag, are expected to start contract talks this week.

Súlan has informed the airline that its cabin crew will go on strike on 1 October if its demands are not met.

New committee

Føroya arbeiðsgevarafelag has until now been unable to negotiate with Súlan because the union had no committee.

But Súlan has now appointed a committee and is ready to start negotiations.

The airline claims that the strike announcement only applies to cabin crew residing in Denmark, and not those residing in the Faroe Islands. Súlan insists that it applies to all Atlantic Airways cabin crew members.
