Eleven outgoing MPs receive gratuity pay

The 11 members of Parliament who lost their seat in the 31 August general election will be paid a monthly sum for the next four to six months.

This gratuity payment will cover one month for each year a person has had a seat in Parliament.

According to the law on MPs’ salaries, this payment is handed out for a minimum of four months and a maximum of six months.

The monthly gratuity payment for MPs currently lies at DKK 40,459.
