The national airline’s new Airbus 320 neo is too large for the existing hangar at Vágar Airport.

With a wingspan of 35.80 metres, the new aircraft is 150 cm too wide for the hangar, which means it has to stay outside at night.

Atlantic CEO Jóhanna á Bergi is growing impatient, saying that this is a great inconvenience for the airline’s operations.

But it will be some time before a new hangar is ready, as a new hangar is part of an overall expansion plan for Vágar Airport, according to Regin Hammer, committee chairman at Vágar Airport.
