The Faroese population has increased by 8.2 percent in the past ten years.

On 1 January 2010, 48,494 people lived in the Faroes. On 1 August this year, the figure had risen to 52,122.

This is an increase of almost 4,000 citizens, which is particularly remarkable because the population took a dive of 0.7 percent between 2010 and 2014.

Statistics Faroe Islands has detailed information on population figures in every village and town dating back to 1970.
