Airline goes from strength to strength

The growth in the tourism industry is showing no signs of abating.

Jóhanna á Bergi, CEO of national airline Atlantic Airways, says the company has enjoyed a 10-percent increase in passenger numbers this year.

The growth is not limited to foreign visitors; more locals are also travelling abroad now. She adds that this spring’s interline deal with Air France/KLM has opened up a stream of new tourists travelling in and out of the country.

Bright future

Bergi says that 2019 has been an exciting and rewarding year for the airline and that the coming years are looking promising too.

Next year, two new hotels will open up in the capital, and bookings are already flooding in, she adds.
