Corona virus still ”unlikely” to spread to Faroes

It remains unlikely that the corona virus will spread to the Faroes, according to experts.

But the Faroese health system has put the necessary precautions in place.

Danish health authorities have issued clear guidelines to hospital staff in case of the virus spreading.

A quarantine room has been set up in Tórshavn’s National Hospital, and a patient transport procedure has been agreed upon.

Faroese patients would be moved to one of two hospitals in Denmark, Hvidovre or Skejby, which have special departments for infectious diseases.
