So concludes a new recommendation on making tourism in Mykines sustainable, which is the result of a collaboration between Sørvágur municipality, Visit Faroe Islands, the Environment Agency, Visit Vágar, the Faroe Marine Research Institute and the National Museum.

”The heavy tourist traffic to the popular lighthouse is one area that is particularly important to focus on, says Visit Faroe Islands’ Jóhan Pauli Helgason.

The complete report will be presented at a public meeting in Sørvágur on Thursday at 7pm.
