Almannaverkið (the Social Services) employed 1,002 people at the end of last year

25.02.2020 - 18:26

Almannaverkið (the Department of Social Services) has submitted a summary of its job advertisement procedures to Parliament.

The report concludes that social services are finding it hard to attract suitable candidates when advertising job vacancies.

One in three of its job adverts were described as “yielding no result”, 19 percent were classified as “unsatisfactory” and 16 percent were said to be “successful”.

Last December, 1,002 people worked in the Department of Social Services, which is an increase of 212 since 2015.
