Suðuroy has the highest unemployment rate in the country, with 2.6 percent of its inhabitants in full-time unemployment, according to the latest figures from Statistics Faroe Islands.

This is well above the national average of 1.6 percent.

The second-highest unemployment rate is in Norðurstreymoy, with 2.0 percent in full-time unemployment. The lowest rate is in Norðuroyggjar, with 1.0 percent.
