First 24-hour service station
The Magn petrol station near Tórshavn’s swimming hall yesterday became the country’s first 24-hour service station.
“We wish to increase our service level, and we believe there is a need for a 24-hour service station,” says Magn CEO Finn Jacobsen.
“We have had a round-the-clock filling service for some time, but now we wish to offer other services – such as a cup of coffee or a snack – to the people who come to fill their cars at night.”
The 24-hour opening times will be in place on a trial basis for the remainder of this year.

Magn’s competitor, Effo, is not currently planning to open a 24-hour service station.
“We have given this a lot of thought, but so far we have not done anything about it,” says Effo CEO Janus Thomsen.
He adds that the new Effo app makes it easy for people to buy fuel around the clock at all their stations.
