Limited tourist access to Mykines this summer

Upcoming extension work on the landing place in Mykines will limit access to the one of the country’s most popular tourist destination.
This work will make it more difficult to transport people to and from the island, and it may affect the ferry schedule, according to road authority Landsverk.
The project will begin later this month, and it is expected to last about five weeks.
Bridge closed until September
Tourists will also be hampered by not being able to access the walking bridge to the Mykineshólmur islet.
Work has begun to replace the bridge, and from next week it will be closed for access.
The new bridge is expected to be taken into use in September, says Landsverk.
