Another seven new Covid cases

Seven positive Covid tests were registered yesterday.

Four tested positive on arrival from Mallorca, one in follow-up test one day after arrival and two were infected domestically.

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 8, 20, 23, 12, 11, 7 and 7.

There are currently 125 active Covid-19 cases in the country. No-one is receiving hospital treatment for Covid-19, and 677 people are currently listed as being in quarantine.

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated today, 33,161 people (62.1 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 25,192 (47.2 percent) have received the second shot.

Update on hospital visits

Having noted some hesitation regarding hospital visits during the current Covid wave, the Hospital Service recently announced the following on its website:

“Fully vaccinated people are welcome to visit patients at the country’s three hospitals. However, vaccinated people returning from abroad are required to wait for the test results taken on the day of arrival before visiting a hospital.”

Visitors are advised to follow the Covid-19 guidelines regarding distancing and hygiene during hospital visits.
