First day of school for 765 children

Tomorrow will be the first day of school for 765 children across the country, reports news portal dagur.fo.
The new Skúlin á Fløtum in Tórshavn has the highest intake of new pupils with 92, followed by Klaksvík’s Skúlatrøð school with 74.
Fifty children will have their first day of school at the á Argjahamri school in Argir, 48 at Tórshavn’s Sankta Frans skúli and 47 at Runavíkar skúli.

A noteworthy figure here is that only two new pupils are enrolled at the new DKK 100 million state-of-the-art Skúlin við Streymin.
Forty of this year’s school starters will attend independent schools.
Five schools have no new pupils registered this year.

As in previous years, the municipalities and road safety council RFF, have joined forces to remind drivers to be extra careful as thousands of children will be heading back to school after the summer break.
According to dagur.fo, 'Drive carefully' signs have been put up in and around school areas across the country and parents have been encouraged to teach their children about road safety.
