Total smoking ban in hospitals

From 1 January next year, hospital staff across the country will be banned from smoking during work hours.

“As a hospital, we should lead the way when it comes to promoting healthy habits,” says Alexandra á Dul, CEO of Klaksvík Hospital.

She admits that the announcement of the ban has been met with mixed reactions.

“Some staff are not too pleased with it, but in general I feel that most of our staff respect our decision.”
