Eighty-one new Covid cases

Yesterday’s 3,484 Covid tests resulted in 81 positive cases, reports corona.fo.
All infected persons have been notified by the health authorities, and extensive contact tracing is underway.
The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 89, 78, 99, 65, 68, 84 and 81.
There are currently 634 active Covid cases in the country. Four people are receiving hospital treatment for Covid, and 688 people are currently listed as being in quarantine.

Travel through the Eysturoy subsea tunnel will be free of charge both ways for people in passenger cars driving to Tórshavn for Covid testing at the following times:
- Tonight 6.30pm-11.30pm
- Tomorrow 4pm-11.30pm
- Sunday 4pm-11.30pm
A pop-up testing station will open in Vágar tomorrow, but there are currently no plans for free travel through the Vágar subsea tunnel.

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated today, 39,503 people (73.8 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 37,773 (70.6 percent) have received the second shot.
