Police will be removing number plates from up to 436 cars over the next few days

Akstovan, the Faroese Vehicle Administration, has handed the police 436 cases of road tax arrears.
Police will now seek to remove the number plates from the cars in question.
Road taxes are to be paid in advance twice a year, and the 436 unpaid road tax bills are for the second half of this year.
If you have received two reminders regarding late payment of your road taxes and you cannot show a payment receipt, you can expect to see your car’s number plates disappear shortly.
