Youth parliament starts next week

Lower-secondary school pupils were this summer invited to submit proposals to the youth parliament.
Nineteen classes from across the country submitted proposals on topics such as epidemic legislation, transport, alcohol and school-related issues.
This year’s youth parliament will be made up of 32 pupils from Eysturskúlin, Skúlin á Fløtum, Hoyvíkar skúli, Kollafjarðar skúli, Runavíkar kommunuskúli, skúlin á Giljanesi, Tvøroyrar skúli and Vágs skúli.
The young MPs will be presenting their proposals to the Prime Minister and other ministers on Tuesday.
The first youth parliament took place in 2005. This is the eighth youth parliament.
