Many pensioners continue working
1,471 Faroese residents aged 69 and above receive an income from employment, according to the Ministry of Social Affairs.
This figure consists of 919 men and 552 women.
In the 76+ age group, 271 men and 87 women are registered as receiving an employment income.

Of the 1,471 total, 767 are in private-sector employment and 674 work in the public sector.
The highest percentage of 69+ workers are in Suðurstreymoy (22 percent), and the lowest percentage (13 percent) is in Suðuroy.
Last year, a total of DKK 74 million was deducted from the old-age pension income of those receiving employment income.
