Poll: more sanctions needed against Russia

A spyr.fo poll commissioned by KvF yesterday asked 500 people about their opinions on sanctions against Russia.

To the first question, “Should the Faroes apply more sanctions against Russia?” 49 percent responded yes, 23 percent no and 28 percent were undecided.

The second question was: “What sanctions should we implement?” Here, a full 75 percent said we should close our ports to all Russian ships, including fishing vessels. Forty-nine percent want to cut trade all ties with Russia and 12 percent were undecided.

Question number three was whether the government should enter negotiations with Russia regarding the fisheries deal, which expires at the end of this year.

Thirty-four percent said yes, 44 percent said no and 22 percent were undecided.
