Ferry Norrøna will not be sailing to Iceland next winter.

Shipping company Smyril Line, which owns Norrøna, has announced that in 2023, the ferry will have its first departure from Tórshavn to Iceland on 20 March, and the last departure from Iceland will be on 22 November.

The company has set out to reduce its energy emission and adopt a more sustainable use of its resources.

The new sustainability strategy will be carried out in several stages.

Some of the many adjustments already implemented are that the company’s ships now sail at slower speeds and have shorter docking intervals.

Smyril Line says that further changes to Norrøna’s timetables for next year are unlikely.
