Big rise in flu infections
An unusually high number of influenza cases have been registered in the past days, leading to many hospitalisations.
“We are seeing a massive spread of influenza and RS virus across the country these days, and this may last for weeks, perhaps even months,” says Shahin Gaini, professor of epidemiology.

“I am not trying to call off New Year’s celebrations, but it may be wise to think twice before you attend a New Year’s party if you have a fever or display flu symptoms.”
