Probe launched into shooting incident

Police have completed their investigations of a recent incident in Klaksvík when a man was hit by what is believed to be shotgun pellets coming from a boat on the bay.
Earlier this month, two men were shooting birds on the bay of Klaksvík, and it is believed that they were sailing so close to land that their pellets hit a man working on the quay.
Neither of the men on the boat had a gun licence, and they were shooting on a Sunday, which is illegal.
No injury
The man who was hit by the pellets was not injured, but the incident became the subject of a police investigation because the shooting is believed to have taken place too close to land.
A police spokesperson says that the matter will now be taken to court because the case has no precedence.
