New quay stands on shaky ground
The new quay in Tórshavn is in a vulnerable condition because the bolts that support it are cracking

Tórshavn’s large harbour expansion project is delayed due to problems with anchor bolts.
In the section of the harbour expansion that was due for completion at the end of last month, 12 of the 200 bolts which anchor the quay to the sea floor have cracked.
Harbour master Jónsvein Lamhauge cannot say for certain why these problems have arisen.
“Specialists are looking into the matter now to determine a cause of the problem and to find a solution.”
