Dímun farmers Eva úr Dímun and Jógvan Jón Petersen have, together with brewery Okkara, launched a new turnip brew.

The brew, which has an alcohol percentage of 14, is named Mai after the Faroese name for the early garden turnip (Brassica rapa).

Mai is particularly suitable together with fermented meat and fish and can be a decent alternative to sake when eating sushi, according to the brewers.

The new brew is available in alcohol stores across the country at DKK 285 per 750 ml bottle.
