Faroes now on Norway’s ‘red list’ for travellers

From this Saturday, travellers from the Faroe Islands will be placed on Norway’s Covid-19 red list.

This means that anyone travelling from the Faroes to Norway will need to quarantine for 10 days.

Five other European nations – Poland, the Netherlands, Malta, Cyprus and Iceland – have also been included in Norway’s red list.

Non-essential travel discouraged

Norway has changed the status of all other European nations from green (safest) to orange on its ‘traffic light’ grading system for travel, which classifies counties according to infection rates using the colours green, yellow, orange and red, ranging from the safest to the least safe.

In other words, Norwegian authorities are discouraging all non-essential international travel.

Greenland and Romania have also placed the Faroe Islands on their red list.
