Parental leave extended by four weeks

The Parliamentary Trade and Industry Committee has unanimously approved the government’s proposal to extend the paid parental leave period.

This means the period will be extended from 48 to 52 weeks, while the parental leave contribution will increase from 0.71 percent to 0.86 percent of a person’s taxable income.

The committee recommends further improvements and modernisation of the parental leave system in collaboration with the industry.
