19 new Covid cases

Yesterday’s round of 1,270 tests yielded 19 positive outcomes, reports corona.fo.
Seventeen are linked to a known chain of infection. It is not yet clear how the other two, both Faroese residents, contracted the virus. All have been isolated and contact tracing is underway.
Eleven of the 19 positive tests can be traced to a private Christmas party in Tórshavn where one person had infected ten others, according to the chief medical officer, who now warns strongly against holding big New Year's parties.
The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 6, 5, 6, 4, 8, 3 and 19.
One person is currently receiving hospital treatment for Covid-19, and the latest figures show that 247 people are in quarantine.
