Klaksvík Hospital now has a special robotic arm designed to improve the rehabilitation of arms and hands.

The new device is said to be particularly useful as a rehabilitation tool for people with brain haemorrhage as these people typically experience some degree of paralysis of the arms.

“Frequent, high-repetition exercises are an important part of rehabilitation, and the robot arm is a perfect aid for this type of exercise. Its design allows it to train both fine and gross motor functions,” says Súsanna Olsen, COO of Klaksvík Hospital.

“We are delighted with our new device. It will be a great asset in our rehabilitation efforts.”
