Average house price rose by DKK 90,000 in 2020
Last year’s average sale price of a home in the capital was DKK 3.28 million, an increase of DKK 183,000 on 2019

House prices continue to rise. The average house price across the country was DKK 1.95 million last year, compared to DKK 1.86 million in 2019.

Tórshavn saw the highest average price increase in 2020, with DKK 183,000.

Other cities and larger towns had an average sale price of DKK 1.57 million, an increase of DKK 160,000 on 2019, according to new figures from Statistic Faroe Islands.

The smaller villages had the smallest increase in house sale value in 2020, with the average increasing by DKK 96.000 to DKK 1.32 million.

Along with higher house prices across the country, last year also saw significantly more houses sold, going up from 314 in 2019 to 376 in 2020.
