Six GP positions will continue to be manned by substitute doctors

No applications came in for the six general practitioner vacancies that were advertised in the spring.
The vacancies were spread over the following four medical districts: Norðuroyggjar, Suðuroy, Skálafjørður and Vestmanna.
Heilsutrygd (the Public Health Insurance) is working on a plan to add three new GP clinics to the existing 34 – one in Tórshavn, one in Klaksvík and one in Fuglafjørður medical districts.
The Ministry of Health has requested funding for these new clinics.
