Twenty-nine new Covid cases

Friday’s 2,534 Covid tests resulted in 29 positive cases, reports corona.fo.

All have been notified by the health authorities, and extensive contact tracing is underway.

There are currently 530 active Covid-19 cases in the country. Four people are receiving hospital treatment for Covid, and eight Covid-related fatalities have been registered.

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 29, 52, 64, 47, 48, 48 and 29.

To clear up some confusion regarding the Covid pass introduced yesterday:

It is not a specific certificate like the digital vaccination passport. People who have been fully vaccinated, have a negative test result no older than 72 hours or can prove immunity through previous infection are regarded as being in possession of a Covid pass.

This pass grants holders entry to events and venues such as nightclubs and restaurants.

Testing site relocated for the weekend

Covid testing at Tórshavn’s ferry terminal has been relocated to the vaccination centre at the National Hospital for the weekend.

The decision was made to move all testing indoors ahead of the poor weather forecasted for this weekend.

Face masks are required inside the building.
